New for 2010 -2 Weekend Certificate Program designed to give au pairs further study in a focus area. The program includes coursework over 2 weekends, volunteer hours and homework. Successful completion of the program will earn 72 hours. Visit "2 weekend certificate" tab for further information
The registration fee includes coursework, lodging, social activities and meals. The au pair is responsible for transportation to and from the course. For au pairs who do not drive, convenient van shuttles are available from the MARC or Amtrak train stations at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport to the hotel. Registration is ongoing and must be completed on line. Click here for on line registration.
Early registration is encouraged for first selection of course options and early bird discount.
Each weekend session is different; sessions may include but are not limited to:
Nutrition, American History, American Justice, Psychology, American Culture, History of American Music, Smithsonian System, Entrepreneurship in America, Hospitality Industry, Harlem Renaissance, American Family, Educational Games, Children and Poisons, Storytelling through Crafts and TOEFL review course. The classes are assigned closer to the date of the course depending on number of registrants.
The weekend sessions will be held in hotels near and around BWI for the convenience of travelers.
