How do I register for the weekend course?
Registering for the Weekend Course is a two step process. The first (1) step is to visit the "schedule of events" page on our website and choose the course you are interested in. Select the date and complete the online form. Another way to register is to visit www.aupairweekend.org and choose the link on the home page. The second (2) step is to pay with either (a) check or (b) debit/credit card using PayPal. The payment should be completed within 7-10 days of filling out the online form.
After I register online, when do I have to pay?
The payment should be completed within 7-10 days of filling out the online form. Your registration is not complete until the payment has been processed. To qualify for the early and on time registration fees you must register and pay within the time frame. What is the registration fee? The registration fee for the Sojourner Douglass College Au Pair Weekend Course is dependent upon the date of registration. To secure a slot in each course payment must be received no later than 10 days after filling out the online form. No slots will be held for au pairs who have not completed the registration process. Early registration is $292 (If you register more than 60 days prior to the first day of the weekend course) On time registration is $307 (If you register between 59 days and 21 days prior to the first day of the weekend course) Late registration is $337 (If you register 20 days or less prior to the first day of the weekend course) The TOEFL Review Course is separate from the Weekend Course. TOEFL registration is $392 (If you register 30 days or more prior to the first day the review courses). Late registration for the TOEFL Review Course is $417. (If you register 29 days or less prior to the start of the course start date. Registration will close 14 days prior to the start of the course review course. CPR and First Aid registration is $98. If I want to pay with credit or debit card what do I do?
Indicated your payment preference on your online registration form along with the email address you would like the PayPal email invoice sent. If you indicated you wanted to mail a check and then decide you want to pay with credit card you do not have to register. Send an email to www.aupairweekend@gmail.com and indicate what email address you would like the PayPal email invoice to be sent.
What time can I check in?
TOEFL Review-Check- in is 5:00 pm on Friday evening for the TOEFL Review. If you plan to arrive prior to Friday you must reserve a room and make payment arrangements directly with the hotel. You will be offered a special hotel rate for that evening. Early arrivals are not included in the TOEFL Review course fee.
CPR and First Aid along with Water Safety classes- Check- in is at 9am on Saturday morning.
What is the Refund and Transfers Policy?
1. There is a $25 fee to transfer a paid registration from one weekend class to another.
2. There is a fee of $25 to cancel a paid registration one month prior to the registered weekend.
3. There is a $75 fee to cancel a registration 10 to 21 days prior to the registered weekend.
4. There will be no refunds if registration is canceled within 10 days of the weekend course.
5. There is a fee of $10 to transfer a name for a paid registration
6. There will be no refunds for students who exhibit unacceptable behavior and are removed or dismissed from classes.Are Meals and Lodging included in the cost?
Yes, meals and lodging are included in the registration fees.
Where will the class be conducted?
The Sojourner Douglass College Au Pair Weekend Course is always held at hotel and conference center near the Baltimore Washington International airport. Please note: classes are not held at the Downtown Baltimore Campus of Sojourner-Douglass College.
What are the Transportation options?
If you are traveling by Metro, MARC, Amtrak or airplane you must arrive at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport. There will be a hotel van that will pick -up au pairs and take them to the hotel. All return transportation should be booked after 6 pm on the Sunday after the end of course. Early departures will not be permitted and will jeopardize your ability to complete the program and earn the credits needed.
If traveling by Light Rail from Baltimore please arrive at the Linthicum North Light Rail station. There will be a hotel van that will pick up au pairs from the Linthicum North Light Rail station and take them to the hotel.
If traveling by Amtrak, Metro or MARC wait outside the BWI Thurgood Amtrak entrance.
If traveling by airplane, please book your flight arriving at Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport. Please send your airline confirmation information to www.aupairweekend@gmail.com. The hotel van will pick-up from the ground transportation area outside Southwest airlines A3. If you are arriving by any other airline other than Southwest, please walk to the Southwest ground transportation area.
Advance reservations are required for hotel van pick-up. Reservations must be made at least 10 days prior to the weekend course. To reserve your pick up time email www.aupairweekend@gmail.com with your name, date, time of pick up and location of pick up (BWI Amtrak, BWI ground transportation or North Linthicum Light Rail).
Must I complete Homework?
Will I have a Roommate?
All students will have a roommate when attending the weekend course or the TOEFL review. You may request a specific roommate. Please indicate roommate preference on your online registration form. All efforts will be made to honor your roommate preference. For an additional fee you may request to have no roommate.
How many credits can I earn?
Successful completion of the Sojourner Douglass College Au Pair Weekend Course along with required outside homework will provide 4 C.E.Us. To satisfy the 6 credits you will need to attend 2 weekend sessions. Successful completion of the Sojourner Douglass College TOEFL Review Course along with outside homework will provide 36 hours. Successful completion of the TOEFL Review course without the homework will provide 3 CEU's. Is Sojourner Douglass an accredited College?

What if I register late for the weekend course, and I don’t have enough time to do my homework?
If you register within 3 weeks of the course you can request two (2) additional weeks to complete your homework. Your letter of completion will be held and mailed to you after you complete the course and homework is submitted and completed satisfactorily
What is given as proof of completion for the course?
A letter of completion will be given at the conclusion of the weekend course if homework is satisfactorily completed and you attended all assigned classes through out the weekend.
Can I take more than one weekend course? If I take more than one weekend course, what do I do for homework?
Yes, you can take more than one weekend course. The homework changes slightly. The homework requirements for the second weekend course are listed on the Homework Guides document.
Can I use the certificate I receive for a national certification process?
No, the certificate you earn with the Au Pair Weekend Program is not apart of any professional certification process.
